Marquenterre ornithological Park

At he heart of the Somme bay nature reserve, Le Marquenterre ornithologic Park is a favourite stopping place for thouthands of migratory birds. Two differents routes offer the chance to observe the birds in a total tranquility.

The Bird Centre

In all weathers, the Bird Centre is a must-see for introduction to ornithology, before observing its 200 species of birds in the Somme Bay or at the Marquenterre ornithological Park.

Valloires Gardens and Abbey

Founded in the 12th century by cictercian monks, the Abbeywas rebuilt in the 18th century. The Gardens, designed by Gilles Clément, stretch over 8 hectares and gather together a unique collection of 5,000 sprecies and species of plants grouped in themed areas: rose garden, marsh garden, sense garden, medical plants, the Garden of Evolution etc.

The Somme Bay Railway

Explore the Somme Bay on board a local train from the beginning of the 20th century. Authentic carriages from the Belle Epoque pulled by valiant steam locomotives travel between Le Crotoy, Noyelles-sur-Mer, Saint-Valery-sur-Somme and Cayeux-sur-Mer.

The Rambures Fortress

In the heart of a romantic park stands the 15th century feudal fortress, a place of residence that also played a defensive role. This furnished historical monument, listed since 1940, is an intact example of military architecture from the end of the Middle Ages.

Samara

Thsi site retraces 600,000 years of history in the Somme Valley through two permanent exhibitions, reconstructions of living quarters and demonstrations of prehistoric techniques (pottery, flint cutting, stone cutting, weaving, mosaics, etc.). The Hortillonnages

A mosaic of 300 hectares of market and ornamental gardens separared by little canals in the heart in Amiens. A listed site that can only be accessed by traditional horn-shaped boats.
